Early this morning, a fire claimed the Marigny based bakery of Hubig’s Pies. The small fried pies are an institution in the region, whether as vessels of nostalgia for those raised in the city, or a reminder of generosity and resiliency in tough times. The owners have announced that they plan to rebuild, and based on the reactions of the community and local businesses, they will have no problem doing so.
